Ok, people, here's the deal: Our darling friends from Puzzle Them Home have started a Facebook event. The goal is to send 2,223 letters to Ellen on January 22-23 (today and tomorrow) nominating the fam to go on her show and get more publicity for Puzzle Them Home! 2,223 letters-- crazy, right?! But I think it can happen! If you have already written in, THANK YOU! (: I know that you are all busy people-- please know that we really, truly appreciate your efforts! They have made it super easy to do-- it's all online and you can just copy and paste a letter they have written if you don't want to do your own. You can read about it HERE. This is my thought-- we have 248 blog followers. If even half of you write a letter for both you and your spouse and find 3 additional people to write letters, that would be over 600 letters just from our blog readers. That would be AWESOME!
So... I'm going to make you a deal! If you choose to participate, please leave a comment here as well as on the Facebook page. If we get at least 50 comments here, I will promise to write (or bug Jeremy to write) 50 blog entries in the next 50 days. That's 50 chances to read about exploding frozen root beer and parenting mishaps and Sophi-isms and tea parties and funny pranks and pratfalls. I might even throw in a heartfelt post or two about dealing with trials and how I'm learning to "let go." I know-- you can hardly contain your excitement, right? (wink wink)

Couldn't get my facebook comment to post, but I sent the Ellen letter and realized I should have left you a blog comment a long time ago. We live in Park City and have a heart for Chinese orphans too. We love your blog and would love to connect face to face someday.
ReplyDeleteI did it once for me and once for the husband! :)
ReplyDeleteI did it for me and for Jeremy!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove you!!!
done! :)
ReplyDeleteI did it once for myself and once for my husband. I've never commented on your blog before, but have been a long time reader and love your amazing family. Thanks for the inspiration you bring to so many.
ReplyDeleteHere is a copy of what I wrote to Ellen. I ran out of room. Otherwise, I would have gladly written more:
ReplyDeleteAs the father of Jeremy Green, I suppose I am a little prejudiced. But my son is the first to admit that his amazing wife, Christianne, has been the driving force behind their adoption of six, soon to be seven, special needs children from China.
In December 2010, I personally had the heavenly experience of flying to China with Jeremy and Christianne, plus two of their daughters, to help rescue two little orphans from the masses of special needs children who are hungering to have a mommy and daddy and brothers and sisters--in other words, to be part of a FAMILY.
Lexi, age five at the time, was blind, but otherwise perfect. What happiness she engenders whenever she meets a stranger and immediately warms them with her charming smile and adorable personality. How she hungers to get to know them better, asking all kinds of questions to satisfy her curiosity and to compensate for the fact that she can't see them.
Sophi, age two at the time, captured my heart with my very first glimpse of her big, sad eyes. How I rejoiced at the sight of my son embracing her, reassuring her that she was now a part of a family. Her rosy cheeks and beaming smile, coupled with the stark reality that she has no arms, and walks with a limp, makes her the perfect poster child for special needs adoption. How thrilled I was to see her retrieve with her tiny toes coins that I placed on the carpet. How carefully she placed each one back into my coin purse, drawing a crowd at the airport.
Mine's done! Love you all!
ReplyDeletedone! Would love to hear more on how Cali is doing! See lost photos from your trip to China. Oh, tell your husband our 14 year old yesterday opened the frig while I was opening the oven putting a gash in our steel frig. I would take spilt salsa any day.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading for over a year- sent a letter in, good luck!
ReplyDeleteSent it and invited friends to do the same. Good luck!!! P.S., I got your voicemail, and I'll call you tomorrow. ;) Sorry I haven't called you back yet.
ReplyDeleteSeriously?! I want 50 blog entries! I sent one for me and will do one for Kirk tomorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteSent it, one for the husband too!
ReplyDeleteLetters will be written forthwidth! I bet it happens!! And as for the following - the blast radius of a dropped jar of salsa is an inverse of the degree of difficulty of the cleaning required for the items within the radius. Ex. if dropped in the middle of a floor with nothing around for miles - the jar will not break. However, if there are many items with lots of nooks and crannys some of which might require a tooth brush for cleaning - then the radius may be greater than the room within which the mishap occurred!
ReplyDeleteand finally - the fort - again - the ease in which the fort is created is an inverse to the amount of damage that might occur to the paint on the ceiling to which the fort is attached! ;)
hugs - love you guys -
aus and co.

ReplyDeleteHey-- did you just post a new post about the new post just to get an extra comment on here? And are you thinking that this reply is counting as a comment too, making you doubly devious? Ha! (:
DeleteOf course. You've cracked my devious plans. Oh, and yes, this one counts, too... as number 50. Muahaaahahaaahaaa!
DeleteOk. So Danny sent a letter!

ReplyDeleteI did post my comments to Ellen, but couldn't comment on your facebook announcement because I've yet to swallow my pride and vanity and join. :) And are you kidding me...47 comments on this blog? We came so close to 50 and were just shy. Arghhhh!
ReplyDeleteOf course you got 2 from us! And we're so proud of our friends on Facebook: 16 of mine joined and 8 of Seth's! I'm assuming they all sent letters :)
ReplyDeleteI know you already hit 50 but here's one more just in case. I sent an email and I'm sure it will be the one that pushes her over the edge to take on the story!
ReplyDeleteI sent a letter yesterday to Ellen too!! Looking forward to your posts, Jeremy!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I was a couple of days late, but I still sent two letters to Ellen, one from me and one from my husband. Every little bit helps, right? Good luck, guys!
