After I tucked Sophi and Lexi into bed tonight, Lexi asked, "Dad can you tell me a story?" I often do tell them a bedtime story. I just finished reading Voyage of the Dawn Treader to those two plus Jesi and Xander. But tonight it was kind of late. Nevertheless, I couldn't let such a plea from my daughter go unheard, so I responded, "Yes. I'll tell you a story!" Here's what they got....
Once upon a time there was a girl name Lexi and she had a sister named Sophi and they were the two most beautiful girls ever. And their dad was AWESOME! The end.
Both girls responded with, "No! That's not the end." But given how exhausted I felt, it surely was! :-)

PS. Christi is finding great humor in the fact that I was too tired to tell them a story but not to tired to blog the story. ..

ReplyDeleteHa, ha!! I can relate to being too tired for stories but not too tired for my own computer time. You did inspire me to write a longer journal entry tonight than I usually do, though!
ReplyDeletehe hee! So true Christi
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of a Peanuts cartoon in which Linus wants a story. So someone tells him the story, "There once was a man. He lived and he died." And Linus says, "Wow. Makes you wish you knew the guy!" Your girls are smarter than Linus!
ReplyDeleteHi, I just found your blog. I have four girls from China, I'm LDS, too, and single. We recently moved to a new town so we could have a bigger home that met all our needs. I've just read about Conner and saw his videos and he is indeed handsome and filled with the Spirit (and I don't say that lightly). I have two teens, and wonder if your daughter Cali would be interested in being a penpal to my 15 yr. old. Please email me any time, the link is in my profile.
ReplyDeleteI would like Cali or Gracie to be my penpal too! :3
Deleteaww, when I was little my dad read me the whole series or the chronicles of narnia :3
